What is Arden Park Select?

Arden Park Select is a hybrid of competitive (pay to play”) soccer and recreational soccer. It is run and managed by volunteers like traditional recreational soccer, but plays within a league where some of the competition will be coming from pay to play” clubs in which coaches and staff are paid. The char below illustrates where AP Soccer and AP Select fit within the grand scheme of different soccer levels of play.

What league are we in? How many games do we play?

Arden Park Select, plays within US Club Soccer in the NorCal Premier league. 

All U9-U13’s team will play at a bronze or silver level tier within this league. 

Teams will also play the NorCal Premier State Cup (7-10games). 

Included in the registration fee is 7-10 league games within Nor Cal Premier and as well the State Cup matches around 7-10 games. (U14s and above do not play State Cup unless team is able to play during the spring)

What is the registration fee for an Arden Park Select Player?

U9-U10: $395

U11 and Above: $495

What is included in Registration?

Coach Registration – 3 coaches per team max (over 3 coaches teams are responsible for coaches registration fees)

Player registration to US Club 

Team registration fee for NorCal Premier 

State Cup registration Fee  

Ref fees for league games and state cup

Practice field 2x’s a week for 1.5hr slots (Practice field is half of an age-appropriate field)

Home field for all home games 

Will we play in tournaments?

Teams may attend additional tournaments. Teams and their players and families are responsible for all additional tournament fees. 

The Current tournaments suggested for our Teams is Union’s Copa Del Rey, Elk Grove Boo Fest, Cal North Association Cup, and Unions Winter Turf Invitational.  

How are teams built?

Arden Park will host open tryouts in May.

All players, in order to be rostered, must register and attend tryouts. No player can be added to a roster without this step.

Coaches pick their players from the pool of players at tryouts.

Coaches are allowed to recruit for their teams. However, they are only allowed to recruit players who are registered with Arden Park Soccer. No recruitment of players outside of Arden Park Soccer Club is allowed.

How much does it cost for Arden Park Select Jersey Kit?

The cost for a full kit is $150. This includes both the home and away jerseys. 

Do we wear the same Jerseys as the recreational side of Arden Park Soccer?

Are Coaches paid?

Coaches are not paid and we do expect more from our coaches at this level. A higher dedication to the overall development of their team and players, and a commitment to further training/certifications as a coach is needed. But no, Coaches at Arden Park Select are volunteers.

How are you affiliated with Union FC?

We work with Union FC, in collaboration, to offer multiple levels of soccer to our community. Our programs are different but tied to a similar platform. We offer players a chance to experience Club Soccer and compete at a slightly higher level than recreational soccer. 

Union offers players the chance and opportunity to play at the highest levels of competition in our area.
