AP SELECT FAQs

AP Select is the competitive program of Arden Park Soccer Club. It is a
seasonal, competitive program with its primary season in the Summer/Fall (June
through November), with the option of playing in Spring League. The program is
intended to allow athletes to continue playing multiple sports while playing at a
more competitive level in the Fall.

AP Select plays in the NorCal Premier league against other competitive clubs in
the greater Sacramento area. All teams in the program will play in the bronze,
silver, or gold divisions of NorCal premier competitions, which includes Fall
league and the State Cup tournament. Most teams can expect to play between
10 - 15 games between August and December for Fall League and State Cup.

2025/2026 Registration fees (based on birth year) for our program are:

U8 Academy (2018): $495

U9/U10 (2017 and 2016): $575

U11/U12 (2015 and 2014): $625

U13+ (2013 and older): $675

Registration includes, but not limited to:

• Coach/Player registration with US Club Soccer
• Team registration fees with NorCal Premier (including league and State
  Cup fees)
• Referee fees for Fall league and State Cup home games
• Practice field space twice a week for 1.5 hours (practice field is half of an
  age-appropriate field)
• Team entry fees to two tournaments in the greater Sacramento area
• Lighted field options in November

The cost for the mandatory custom AP Select uniform kit is $150. This includes
both the home and away jerseys with the player’s last name on the back of the
jersey. Optional warm up kits and items are also available through our uniform
vendor.

Teams are expected to play in two tournaments in the greater Sacramento area, which are included as part of the registration fees. Teams may attend additional tournaments, at the coaches discretion. Coaches will provide additional details on the tournaments they will attend, but players can expect to play 3-4 games on tournament weekends.

Our teams will typically play games in the greater Sacramento area, but some
travel is to be expected. Fall league and State Cup games will typically be played
as far as Rocklin or Elk Grove, and some travel may be needed for the later
round games in State Cup.

AP Select teams are formed through open tryouts in May. Players must register
and attend tryouts in order to be offered a spot on a roster. Coaches will evaluate
the players over 3 days of tryouts before finalizing their roster. Players are
encouraged to attend as many tryouts as they can to be properly evaluated.

AP Select coaches are all volunteers and are not paid to coach. Almost all of the
coaches in the program have a son or daughter playing on the team. AP Select
coaches must complete their age appropriate coaching license through US
Soccer, and are also encouraged to seek further training/certification.
